Online tuition, perhaps surprisingly, works rather well. The key to this is that both tutor and student have the same materials in front of them (such as a textbook, worksheet etc.) and I use the ‘Share Screen’ function frequently. This allows me to show diagrams and working out, as well as using online annotation tools to draw diagrams or highlight particular parts of text.
Feedback from all of my students, both at the school I teach at and through my private tuition, is overwhelmingly positive.
I use Zoom as it allows a large amount of flexibility and interaction with students.
